It is easy to go to Kobe and Nara from Osaka as well as to Kyoto,
even though you are not JR pass holders.

Kobe is the best place for vintage, second-hand and thrift shops.
The town itself has an exotic atmosphere and just walking is fun.
Also close to Rocco mountain side. >> one of the aractions

Todaiji temple(A UNESCO world heritage site), Kofukuji temple,
Kasuga-taisha shrine, Yakushiji temple and more famous temples are
all in Nara, and there are such beautiful parks and gardens like
Nara park and Isuien garden. Many deers will welcome you!
Also, Enjoy the historic ambience of Nara machi.
Sometimes, it is easy and good deal to get KANSAI Thru Pass
If you move over Kansai area in a couple of days.

If you have JR pass, you can take a day-trip to Hiroshima,
Takayama, Fukuoka, Kanazawa and lots more away from Osaka.
